The Festival of Quilts

The Festival of Quilts is a feast for the senses and has secured a firm position as Europe’s largest patchwork and quilting event. Run in partnership with the Quilters Guild of the British Isles, the Festival features:
- Over 1,000 hung quilts, including 750 competition quilts;
- 30 extraordinary galleries by top international artists and groups;
- An extensive programme of workshops, talks and social events;
- A unique shopping experience with over 300 specialist suppliers under one roof.
2018 saw a record 25,430 visitors flock to see the Festival’s unique content which included the historic 1718 Silk Coverlet – the UK’s earliest known dated patchwork, new work by headline artist Nancy Crow, an evening of stories and songs with quilting star Ricky Tims and the Festival’s biggest workshop programme to date.
2019 is set to be another exciting year for The Festival of Quilts with headline galleries confirmed by world-class artists Michael James, India Flint, Jenny Doan and the International Quilt Study Center & Museum, Nebraska.
